PLYMOUTH – This one didn't take long. Junior QB Eric Schwieterman found classmate Daniel Tracht for a 65-yard touchdown on the very first instant the Flyers touched the ball and it was nothing but clear sailing from there in a 63-0 rout of Plymouth (2-2, 0-1) Friday night at Mary Fate Park. The 63 points surpasses a 57-point effort against Plymouth in 1999 while the 63-point margin surpasses last season's 56-margin victory to make it the most lopsided victory ever against the Big Red in school history. Tracht then scored three minutes into the game after Plymouth punted on the ensuing series after the first score, and the junior returned the punt 41 yards for a touchdown. However, the Flyers (4-0, 1-0) made their mark with a 36-point explosion in the second quarter to take a 49-0 halftime lead. Rob Kunisch scored from two yards out just 22 seconds into the quarter, and at the 9:37 mark Schwieterman ran in from nine yards. Just under three minutes later, Brian Griffin scored from a yard away and tacked on the two point conversion but just before anyone thought the Flyers were done, Justin Wilde returned an interception 60 yards with 1:53 left till halftime and then it was Griffin again on a 31-yard run with 45 seconds left. In the third quarter, the backups got in on the action as David Thomas finished off a lengthy drive from a yard out and in the fourth quarter Devin McFadden's 53-yard fumble return with 10:18 left in the game closed out the scoring. More details and stats will be available ASAP.
